Dual clutch transmission (DCT) can match manual transmission's high efficiency and extremely fast shift speed, high fuel economy, can withstand a large torque, but the operation may appear stutters and other phenomena. Dual clutch transmissions are now widely used in the automotive sector, mainly for customers who value more sport and driving pleasure. Many dual-clutch transmission lever has "+" and "-" symbols beside the decorative plate "D" word, and the shift lever can be manipulated to the right to switch to manual mode.

The structure principle of double clutch transmission

Unlike a manual transmission, a dual-clutch transmission has two clutches, both dry and wet. Dry dual clutch friction discs can be transferred directly by engaging each other, but it is also easier to heat, suitable for small power engines. Wet dual clutch has good adjustment ability and can transfer large torque. The dual clutch transmission has less hydraulic torque converter, simplifies the system structure, improves the transmission efficiency, and the oil temperature in the transmission is lower. The transmission eliminates multiple brakes and clutches for shifting gears, reducing seals and leaks.

The two clutches of the dual clutch transmission are connected to an input shaft, one for odd gears 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the other for even and reverse gears 2, 4 and 6. Dual clutch transmission shift and clutch operation are achieved by transmission control unit control. The transmission control unit carries on the automatic shift logic control, and initiates the shift solenoid valve to move, and completes the automatic shift position. The hydraulic part of the dual clutch transmission consists of an oil pump, an oil circuit plate, a hydraulic shift slide valve, a dual clutch and a hydraulic cylinder for three synchronizers.

The dual clutch shift saves the time needed to hook into gear. It's like a relay race. When one gear is running, the other is already waiting, so it's fast. Transmission in 1 file, for example, connect 1 gear clutch K1 and transmission, the transmission control unit according to the speed of information and the engine speed signal during intention judgment, predictive control another clutch K2 are connected to the two gear group, but only in the ready state, has not yet connected to the engine power. When the first gear rises to the second gear, the clutch connecting the first gear disconnects, and the clutch connecting the second gear quickly engages with the engine.
