Drive shaft A shaft in a universal drive that transmits power. In addition to transmission power, some drive shafts are telescopic in length to prevent interference in motion if the distance between the connected shafts changes.
In the process of automobile driving, the relative position of transmission and drive axle often changes. In order to avoid motion interference, the drive shaft is connected with the sliding spline composed of sliding fork and spline shaft to adapt to the change of the drive shaft length. Grease nozzle, oil seal, cover and dust jacket for grease filling are also provided to reduce wear and tear.
When the drive shaft rotates at high speed, the centrifugal force caused by uneven mass will make the drive shaft vibrate violently. Therefore, when the drive shaft and universal joint assembly must be balanced. When the drive shaft is too long, it needs to be disconnected in the middle, and they are supported on the frame (body) by the supporting device.
The middle support is installed on the beam of the frame or the underframe of the body, which requires that it has the function of compensating the installation error of the transmission shaft and adapting to the displacement function caused by the engine shifting and the frame deformation caused by the elastic suspension of the engine in driving. At the same time, the rubber elastic element has the function of absorbing the vibration of the transmission shaft, reducing the noise and bearing the radial force.
The middle support is composed of rubber elastic elements, bearings and so on. Because the honeycomb rubber pad is elastic, it can meet the compensation of installation error and displacement caused by engine movement and frame deformation during running. Some intermediate supports use double row tapered roller bearings.
Intermediate support should be added when the drive shaft is segmented. Usually the middle support is installed on the frame beam, which should be able to compensate the installation error of the drive shaft in the axial and angular directions and the displacement caused by engine movement or frame deformation in the process of vehicle driving.
