Transmission shaft bracket - Classification of transmission shaft

The transmission shaft is an important part of the automobile transmission system to transmit power. Its role is to transmit the power of the engine to the wheels together with the gearbox and drive axle, so as to generate driving force for the automobile.

Transmission shaft support - transmission shaft is divided by elasticity

The transmission shaft can be classified differently according to its important components -- universal joints. According to whether the universal joint has obvious elasticity in the direction of torsion, it can be divided into rigid universal joint transmission shaft and flexible universal joint transmission shaft.

1. Rigid universal joint: it transmits power by hinge connection of parts.

2. Flexible universal joint: it transmits power by elastic parts and has the function of cushioning and vibration reduction.

Rigid universal joints can also be divided into non constant velocity universal joints (such as cross shaft universal joints), quasi constant velocity universal joints (such as double joint universal joints and three pin shaft universal joints) and constant velocity universal joints (such as ball cage universal joints and ball fork universal joints). Constant speed and unequal speed refer to whether the rotational angular rates of the driven shaft and the driven shaft are equal when they rotate with the driving shaft. Of course, the average rotational speeds of the driving shaft and the driven shaft are equal.

1. Constant velocity universal joint:

A universal joint in which the angular velocities of the driving and driven shafts are still equal when the included angle between the two shafts changes is called a constant velocity universal joint or a constant angular velocity universal joint. They are mainly used in wheel transmission devices such as steering drive axle and disconnected drive axle, and are mainly used for power transmission in cars.

2. Non constant velocity universal joint:

A universal joint in which the angular velocity of the driving and driven shafts is not equal when the included angle between the two shafts changes is called an unequal velocity universal joint, also known as a cross shaft universal joint. The cross shaft rigid universal joint transmission shaft is widely used in the automobile transmission system and has a long history.
